About Hannah
Hello, my name is Hannah James. I am a Registered Nurse, Abdominal Therapist, and Board Certified Nurse Coach who integrates these modalities -along with Reiki and Functional Medicine principles - to support healing of the whole person. My work is rooted in the belief that true well-being comes from tending not just one part of ourselves, but the physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual aspects together.
I have felt called to serve through healing since childhood. I began my formal training shortly after high school, becoming a massage therapist in California. In 2003, I was certified as an Abdominal Therapist, then known as the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy. Over time, I incorporated doula training and pregnancy massage into my practice and, even before formal Reiki training, intuitively worked with universal life energy to support the body’s natural healing processes.
In 2016, I graduated as a Registered Nurse. While I am deeply grateful for the science, structure, and clinical knowledge that nursing provides, I found that traditional healthcare settings often limited the whole-person approach so often emphasized in nursing education. Seeking a bridge between holistic healing and modern science, I discovered Integrative Nurse Coaching, an approach that allowed me to honor both my nursing license and my long-standing commitment to integrative care. Shortly thereafter, I completed additional training in Functional Medicine through the lens of nursing.
Why the little man in my logo? My son has been drawing that small figure since he was a child. When the inspiration for the name Whole People came to me, it felt only natural that his drawing would become the symbol of this work - a reminder that healing is both deeply personal and profoundly human.
