Abdominal Therapy

Someone performing Abdominal Therapy on herself.

Abdominal Therapy is a hands-on technique that recognizes the abdomen as a central hub of physical, emotional, and energetic well-being, where digestion, reproduction, elimination, and circulation are deeply interconnected. This approach supports core physiological processes including digestion, hormonal regulation, elimination, and nervous system balance.

By gently working with the abdomen, back, and hips to support optimal NAVEL flow (Nerve, Artery, Vein, Energy, and Lymph) Abdominal Therapy addresses tension, supports organ mobility, and promotes improved circulation. This work may help the body return toward an optimal baseline of function, which is why it serves as the foundation of my practice.

Woven together by Dr. Rosita Arvigo, Abdominal Therapy, also referred to as the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy®, integrates her doctoral training in naprapathy, herbalism, and more than thirteen years of apprenticeship with Don Elijio Panti, one of the last known traditional Maya healers. These teachings were further shaped by decades of collaboration with herbalist, midwife, healer and friend Miss Hortense Robinson. Learn More about this beautiful lineage.

For clarity and ease of understanding, we use the terms “women” and “men” here when referencing common anatomical and physiological patterns, while honoring the individuality of each person we serve.

Reiki

Reiki is a healing practice originating in Japan. Meaning universal energy, this practice is based on the concept that this universal energy flows through all living things, and when this energy is balanced, the body is better able to heal itself. The practitioner acts as a conduit for energy, allowing it to flow where the body needs it most. Reiki sessions are typically performed with the client fully clothed and can be done on a massage table, chair, or even remotely.

Functional Medicine

Functional Medicine is an integrative, science-based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness rather than treating symptoms alone. Grounded in my nursing practice, these principles emphasize genetics, environment, lifestyle, nutrition, stress, and relationships and how they influence our health. Nurses trained in Functional Medicine use a systems-based framework to assess patterns of imbalance across the body.
